Today, we dive deeper into our Citizen Service Centres set up for The Government of Punjab.
BLS International has set up 354 service centres, known as Sewa Kendras, across 16 districts of Punjab to provide Citizen Services in India. These centres are a part of the e-governance in India and are aimed at facilitating the delivery of more than 350 G2C (Government to Citizen) services related to over 25 diverse departments of the Punjab Government.

These service centres in India have become an essential part of the Digital India initiatives and play a crucial role in providing online citizen services in India. The Government of India has developed a web-based centralized application system for providing public services in India, including Indian government services, government schemes in India, state government services in India, and municipality services in India, among others.
All applications are attended to by the State Data Centre maintained by the Department of Governance Reforms (DoGR), which has helped reduce identity fraud, improve national security, and accurately assess crucial documents. BLS International takes pride in providing infrastructure, people, technology, systems, service integration, and lifecycle support through its Citizen Service Centres (CSCs) spread across the country and abroad.

Below are some of the highlights of project Punjab Sewa Kendra i.e., the setting up of the Punjab Sewa Kendras all over the state.

Service and Transitions
● Over 350 G2C services related to more than 25 diverse Indian Government departments are efficiently provided through BLS’ Sewa Kendras.
● More than 10 B2C services are also offered through the centres, making it easier for citizens to avail of Public Services in India.
● On average, 28,000 transactions take place on a daily basis, benefiting citizens with fast and efficient Government schemes in India.
● A total of 6 million transactions have been carried out till date and are still increasing, as BLS continues to play an active role in Digital India initiatives.

Infrastructure

● BLS has set up 354 Sewa Kendras across India, with 199 of them being in rural areas, which significantly boosts the availability of Online citizen services in India.
● BLS provides advanced computing infrastructure to these centres, with over 1,500 computer nodes, printers, scanners, and digital slates, among other equipment, ensuring a seamless and technology-driven experience for citizens.

Manpower Training

● BLS has employed more than 2,500 skilled personnel for this e-governance project, with over 0.5 million training hours provided to employees to ensure that they are well-equipped to handle citizen requirements effectively.

● Through its dedicated approach towards State government services in India and Municipality services in India, BLS has ensured that its staff is trained to handle diverse requirements that are catered to at the service centres in India.

Customer Delight Services
Following are some of the customer delight services offered.

Form-Filling Assistance – Our CSCs can assist citizens to fill out forms and prepare files required for availing of the services offered at the centres.

Availability of Application Form – If you are worried about how and where to acquire a form or about acquiring one well within a stipulated amount of time, you can buy the required authentic form from us at a nominal cost.

Photocopying Facility – Our citizen service centres also provide photocopying services to citizens at a nominal cost so as to save the applicant from the hassle of running around to get photocopies of original documents at the last minute. 

Lamination of Document – Keep your documents safe and laminated by availing of our lamination facility provided to citizens at a nominal cost at the centres themselves.

Printing Services – Avail of colour printing services that are also at our centres.

Speed Post Service – Applicants can avail of speed post or courier service at the CSCs and opt for their documents to be sent to them instead of returning to collect in person. The documents are safely sent to the applicant’s registered address, thus doing away with the need for multiple visits to the centre.

Telecom Services – Citizens can choose to get their mobile sim cards recharged at the centres at no extra cost.

PAN card application service – Our BLS citizen service centres also help citizens apply for a PAN card wherein they only have to pay the fee charged by the Government.

Domestic Money Transfer – This is an extremely helpful service for citizens residing in cities away from their homes who want to transfer money to their families. 

IRCTC Service – The centres also provide railway ticket booking services for citizens. 

Fastag Service – Citizens can also purchase Fastags and recharge the tags from nearby BLS centres.

These services help us fulfil the Digital India initiative of providing online citizen services in India and contribute towards e-governance in India.

The services offered at our centres also align with various Indian government services, public services in India, and government schemes in India, thereby making them more accessible to citizens. By providing such services, we aim to make our CSCs a one-stop-shop for all State government services in India, municipality services in India, and other e-governance services in India.
