The purpose of this Privacy Notice is to explains you how BLS handle personal information. This Notice applies to this website of BLS and services offered by BLS in Italy Visa application centres operated by BLS.

Who are we?

BLS International Services Limited is authorized by Embassy of Italy (Singapore) to conduct Visa Pre-application system practice i.e. receive applications for various categories of visa to perform administrative and non-judgmental tasks related to those applications, thus enabling Embassy to focus entirely on the critical task of visa assessment. BLS also provides value added services to visa applicants on behalf of Embassy.

By virtue of providing these services on behalf of Italian Embassy in Singapore, BLS is a Data Processor and the respective diplomatic mission of Italy in Singapore is the Data Controller.

How do we collect your information?

We obtain information about you when you use our services on this website or at Visa application centres. We may also obtain information from secondary sources, if we are directed so by the Embassy.

What information is collected from you?

We collect only that information which is requested by the Embassy in order to submit the visa application or provide any value added services requested by you.

Examples: Personal data: Such as, name, date and place of birth, Sensitive Personal data: Biometric data (Fingerprints and Photographs), data for communication: Contact details, emails, mobile phone number, Payments data, Electronic media data: CCTV images/video, audio recordings, website cookies (refer our Cookies Policy).

This list is not exhaustive and varies depending on type of visa and the services you have requested.

Use of your personal information

BLS uses your personal information for

1. Managing and processing your visa application or
2. To provide value added services that you have requested for
3. Fulfil any legal obligations of BLS arising out of services offered to you or otherwise (example- sharing of CCTV footage with law and order enforcement agency)

Profiling

Profiling is a form of automated processing of personal information in order to analyse, predict behaviour and take decisions. We don‟t do that.

Security of your Personal information

We are committed to secure all your personal information. Before collecting your data we ensure its security. We use the secure technologies and processes to keep you data secure all the time it is in our possession. Our team is trained well to handle your data in secure manner.

You may further enhance this security by accessing our websites in secure manner and not sharing the authentication codes like password with any unauthorized / unknown person.

Retention period of your personal data

We will keep your personal information on our systems only

1. As long as it is necessary for the relevant service as mandated by Embassy.
2. As long as it is legally required to hold some types of information to fulfil our statutory obligations (for example; Taxation legislation).

We review our retention periods for personal information on a regular basis.

Access to your information

Your personal information will not be disclosed to third parties without your explicit consent.

We may share your personal information with

1. Those service providers who enable us to serve your requests or who work on our behalf for providing service to you like courier, emails etc.
2. Embassy of Italy ( The Data Controller)
3. Third Parties for legal reasons: (if required) such as: requests from government agencies, including law enforcement and other public authorities, which may include such authorities outside your country of residence.
4. Transferring your information off-shore: As part of the services offered to you through this website, or in a Visa Application Centre, the information which you provide to us will, in most circumstances, be transferred to off-shore countries.

By applying for VISA and availing our services you consent for off-shore transfer of your personal data.

You have certain rights under the Italy‟s "Personal Data Protection Code‟ and "REGULATION (EU) 2016/679 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL‟. For availing those rights or any complaint with respect to processing of personal data you may contact Data Controller or Data Processor.
