The Embassy of Portugal in Rabat is organizing “Open House” days for the submission of Schengen visa applications (for stays of up to 90 days, for purposes such as tourism or business) at its Visa Application Center operated by BLS International – Portugal, in Rabat.
The next edition will take place on May 12 , 2026 , between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. On that day, any person wishing to apply for a Schengen visa for Portugal may, subject to available capacity (60 people), submit their visa application at the Visa Application Center in Rabat without prior appointment.
Please note that you don’t need to use this Open House initiative for the following situations:
You can walk-in every day, without appointment (except Thursday in BLS Rabat):
- Family members of Portuguese nationals
- Directive 2004/38/EC – Family members of EU citizens
- Family reunification
- Higher education students, including Erasmus (only applications leading to an academic degree: Bachelor’s, Master’s, PhD, Postdoc)
You can walk-in every day, from 08:00–12:00, without appointment (except Thursday in BLS Rabat):
- Receipt of Appeals from the applicants (Note: Appeals are not accepted by email or by post and can be submitted at any of the BLS Centres).
Intermediaries selling visa appointments
Do not use intermediaries selling visa appointments. All appointments must be made exclusively through the BLS International website (other channels remain available for the recruitment of workers directly by Portuguese companies — see the notice below). Any other practices may be fraudulent and could entail legal consequences.
Work visa applications submitted by companies
Applicants wishing to apply for a work visa in Portugal will no longer be able to do so through the BLS International platform. Visa applications must now be submitted directly by Portuguese companies to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Portugal in Rabat, using the dedicated email address provided for this purpose.
