Note: Visa fee and service charges are not refunded if your application is refused by the Embassy of Cyprus, or if you withdraw you application while it is under processing at the Embassy of Cyprus, Kazakhstan.
Document requirements
LIST OF DOCUMENTS:
- Correctly completed and signed application form with a 3.54.5 cm photograph (2 pcs) of the applicant, attached to the photo box on the first page of the application form. One photo must be attached in the application form, the other photo must be separate, attached with the passport in a paper clip. (34 photos are not accepted)
- Valid passport, containing at least two blank pages (must be valid for at least three months after the expiry date of the requested visa), as well as copies of the page with the passport holder’s personal data and any previously issued visas.
- Non-refundable visa and service fees according to the applicant’s age category. The fee must be paid in local currency in cash (exact amount, no change provided) or by card when submitting the application (based on the Central Bank of Cyprus exchange rate for the month of application).
- Foreign nationals residing in Kazakhstan must provide valid proof of residence permit or RVP (visa/card of temporary or permanent residence, etc.).
Travel medical insurance for the duration of the stay in Cyprus with a minimum coverage of €30,000 per person. The insurance must:
- Cover all expenses related to medical repatriation, urgent medical care, and/or emergency inpatient treatment;
- Cover the entire period of stay in Cyprus in full.
- Preliminary booking of airline tickets (round-trip) and hotel reservation or confirmation of other accommodation. If the applicant is invited by a private person or a company in Cyprus (if the inviting party covers the applicant’s expenses), it is necessary to provide an invitation letter and to fill out the Assumption of Responsibility for Hosting Non-Cypriot Guests form. The form can be downloaded here: https://www.gov.cy/media/sites/19/2024/06/CY-Assumption-of-Resposibility-to-Host-Form.pdf. The form must be completed by the host and notarized in Cyprus. The form must be accompanied by a copy of the host’s passport or residence permit, proof of employment/bank statements, and a property purchase/rental agreement.
- Proof of the applicant’s employment, i.e., a certificate from the workplace (including the employer’s full name, full address, and phone number with area code), indicating the applicant’s position or professional title, income, and duration of employment; a letter approving leave signed by the employer; or proof of registration and commercial activity of the applicant’s company (for self-employed applicants) in the country of residence, e.g., bank statements, company account documents, or other supporting documents.
- Proof of accommodation – Hotel reservations, rental of holiday home- If the applicant intends to stay with a family member or a friend, proof of sponsorship and/or private accommodation from the host.
- Proof of sufficient financial means to cover the duration of the intended stay, return to the applicant’s country of citizenship or permanent residence, or transit to a third country for which the applicant has a valid visa or residence permit/RVP. Applicants must provide the total account balance and a bank statement for the last two weeks of transactions.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus reserves the right to request additional documents if necessary. These may include:
- Applications for minors must be submitted with a notarized letter signed by both parents or legal guardians, authorizing the minor to apply for a visa to enter the Republic of Cyprus. Proof of relationship between the minor and the authorizing person(s) is also required (accepted documents: a copy of each parent’s ID or passport accompanied by a copy of the minor’s birth certificate with parents’ names; death certificate if applicable; and in the case of sole custody, a court document confirming custody).
- Bank statements for 3 months, savings books.
- Proof of personal status: certificate from the civil registry office or family book, previous passports, or a certificate from the passport office at the immigration service.
Photo specifications
Two [2] photographs of passport style and size [35 x 45 mm] for all applicants, including minors. Your photograph must be:
- COLOR PHOTO (passport-size 35mm x 40mm)
- Photograph without specs.
- Face 70-80% of the height of the photo.
- taken without headgear
- head coverings and hats are only acceptable due to religious beliefs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant's face
- taken against a plain, evenly lit and light background.
Processing time
The processing at the Embassy of Cyprus is not more than 10 working days.
