Submission of Documents for a Visa to the Republic of Cyprus

General Information

Visa applications are accepted without a prior appointment at all BLS Visa Application Centres during document submission hours. When submitting documents by an authorised representative, a notarised copy of the power of attorney must be provided, together with copies of the identity documents of all persons specified in the power of attorney.

Documents must be prepared separately for each applicant, regardless of age. The visa is issued and affixed individually to each applicant’s passport.

Before submitting your application, please make sure that your documents are arranged in the following order:

Document Requirements

1. Visa Application Form, Photograph

Completed and signed visa application form. The application form must be completed in English only, either electronically and then printed, or by hand in clear block letters. Two (2) recent colour photographs on a white background, measuring 3.5 × 4.0 cm. The applicant’s face should occupy approximately 80% of the photograph.

2. Passport

The travel document must have been issued within the last 10 years. The passport must remain valid for at least three months after the intended date of departure from Cyprus, or after the last intended date of departure in the case of multiple entries. Copy of the passport page containing the biographical data. Copies of all previously issued visas.

3. Residence Permit / Temporary Residence Permit (for foreign nationals)

Copy of a valid residence permit in Kazakhstan or a temporary residence permit (TRP). The document must cover the entire requested visa period and remain valid for at least 3 months after the expiry of the requested visa. This requirement does not apply to citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic.

4. Documents for Minors

Birth certificate, copy of the parent(s)’ identity card or passport, and, where applicable, notarised parental consent and authorisation, as well as consent from the accompanying person. If the child is travelling with an accompanying person, a copy of the accompanying person’s identity document and copies of their flight tickets must also be provided.

5. Medical Insurance

  • The insurance policy must cover the entire period of stay in the Republic of Cyprus, with a minimum coverage of EUR 30,000, including emergency medical treatment, hospitalization and medical repatriation.

6. Round-Trip Flight Reservation

Flight reservations to and from airports in the Republic of Cyprus.

7. Proof of Accommodation

A hotel reservation, other proof of accommodation, or another suitable document showing the planned travel itinerary - must be provided.

8. Proof of Employment / Occupation

Certificate from an educational institution. Certificate of employment. For self-employed applicants — business registration documents. For pensioners — copy of the pension certificate.

If the applicant is unemployed:

  • Sponsorship letter.
  • Sponsor’s bank statement.

9. Proof of Financial Means

Bank certificate showing the current account balance and a bank statement for the last three months. Documents must be provided with a QR code or as originals bearing the bank’s stamp and the signature of an authorised bank employee. Applicants must have funds amounting to at least EUR 100 for each day of the intended stay.

Important Information

The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus reserves the right to request additional documents whenever it considers this necessary.

The following documents may also be requested:

  • Records/statements of a savings account or savings passbook.
  • Documents confirming marital status or spouse’s status.
  • Previous passports.
  • Certificate issued by the migration service.
  • Additional documents for minors confirming parental consent and family relationship.

Travel Insurance for Cyprus Visa

Travel Insurance certificate must be submitted at the visa application center as it is a mandatory requirement for applicants travelling to Cyprus. You may get your travel insurance from any authorized insurance company or you may click here links if you wish to avail this optional service now.

Photo specifications

Two (2) passport-style photographs measuring 35 × 40 mm are required for all applicants, including minors.

The photograph must meet the following requirements:

  • Color photograph measuring 35 × 40 mm.
  • The photograph must be taken without glasses.
  • The face must occupy 70–80% of the height of the photograph.
  • The photograph must be taken without headgear.
  • Head coverings and hats are permitted only for religious reasons and must not cover any part of the applicant’s face.
  • The photograph must be taken against a plain white background.

Processing time

Visa processing takes a minimum of 15 calendar days from the date the application is received by the Embassy of Cyprus in Astana. The final processing time is at the discretion of the Embassy and may be extended depending on the individual circumstances of the application.

Please allow additional time for the passport to be delivered to the Visa Application Centre where you submitted your documents.

A visa application may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the intended date of travel.
