Overview

This category of visa caters to people wishing to visit Cyprus for tourism purposes. Applicants will have to provide evidence that he/she falls under this category.

Note: Visa fee and service charges are not refunded if your application is refused by the Embassy of Cyprus, or if you withdraw you application while it is under processing at the Embassy of Cyprus, Kazakhstan.

Document requirements

Main Requirements

  • Documents may be submitted no earlier than 6 months before the intended travel date.
  • The visa application processing time is usually between 7 and 15 days after the documents are received by the Embassy of Cyprus.
  • Documents should not be stapled, as they will be scanned by the Embassy.
  • All documents must be submitted in a single transparent file folder.
  • All forms, questionnaires, and applications must be fully completed and signed. Applications lacking a signature or any required document will not be accepted.

Required Documents

  1. Visa Application Form
    • A correctly completed application form printed on one side of the paper only.
    • Two photographs measuring 3.5 × 4.5 cm:
      • One photograph must be affixed in the designated space on the application form.
      • The second photograph must be attached separately to the passport.
  2. Passport
    • The passport must contain at least two blank pages.
    • The passport must remain valid for at least three months after the expiration date of the requested visa.
    • The following must be provided:
      • A copy of the personal data page.
      • Copies of all existing visas.
  3. Medical Insurance
    • Minimum coverage amount: EUR 30,000.
    • The insurance policy must cover:
      • Emergency medical treatment;
      • Hospitalization;
      • Repatriation expenses for medical reasons.
    • The policy must be valid for the entire period of stay in Cyprus.
  4. Flight Reservation
    • Confirmation of round-trip flight booking.
  5. Proof of Accommodation

    If staying in a hotel:

    • The reservation must be:
      • Fully paid;
      • Non-refundable;
      • Supported by proof of payment.
    • The Consulate may contact the hotel to verify payment.

    If staying with relatives, friends, or by invitation from a company:

    The following documents must be provided:

    • Invitation letter;
    • Notarized Assumption of Responsibility form completed by the host;
    • Copy of the host’s passport and residence permit;
    • Documents confirming the host’s financial status;
    • Proof of accommodation ownership or rental agreement.
  6. Proof of Employment

    For employed applicants:

    • Employment certificate stating:
      • Position;
      • Salary;
      • Employment start date;
      • Employer’s address and telephone number.

    For individual entrepreneurs and business owners:

    • Registration documents of the sole proprietorship or company (LLP);
    • Documents confirming active business operations.

    For pensioners:

    • Copy of pension certificate.

    For unemployed applicants:

    • Sponsorship letter;
    • Sponsor’s employment certificate;
    • Sponsor’s bank documents.
  7. Proof of Financial Means

    Applicants must demonstrate sufficient funds to cover:

    • Their stay in Cyprus;
    • Their return journey;
    • Or onward transit to a third country.
  8. Bank Balance and Statement
    • Bank statement showing transactions for the last two weeks.
    • The account must contain the full amount of funds required for the trip.
  9. Foreign Nationals Residing in Kazakhstan

    A copy of one of the following must be provided:

    • Residence Permit (Permanent Residence Permit), or
    • Temporary Residence Permit.

    The document must remain valid for at least three months after the expiration date of the requested visa.

  10. Documents for Minors

    If a child is traveling without parents:

    • Birth certificate;
    • Notarized consent from both parents;
    • Copies of the parents’ passports or identity documents.

    If a child is traveling with a relative or another accompanying person:

    • Notarized power of attorney for the accompanying person;
    • Copy of the accompanying person’s identity document.

    If a child is traveling with only one parent:

    • Notarized consent from the other parent;
    • Copy of the other parent’s passport or identity document.

    If obtaining consent is impossible:

    • Court decision; or
    • Other supporting documents (for example, proof of single-parent status).

    If the father is not listed on the birth certificate:

    • The father's consent is not required.
    1. Visa Fee Payment

      Payment is made upon document submission either in cash or by non-cash method. The fee amount may change monthly depending on the EUR exchange rate.

      Additional Documents That May Be Requested by the Embassy

      If necessary, the Embassy may request:

      • Bank statements for the last 3 months;
      • Savings account/passbook records;
      • Documents confirming marital status;
      • Civil registry extract;
      • Previous passports;
      • Certificate from the Migration Service;
      • Additional documents relating to minor applicants.

      Important Hotel Requirement

      According to current requirements:

      • Hotel reservations must be fully paid;
      • Hotel reservations must be non-refundable;
      • Proof of payment must be provided.

      The Embassy of the Republic of Cyprus reserves the right to contact the hotel to verify payment and the accuracy of the information provided.

      Travel Insurance for Schengen Visa

      Travel Insurance certificate must be submitted at the visa application center as it is a mandatory requirement for applicants travelling to Cyprus. Photo specifications

Two [2] photographs of passport style and size [35 x 45 mm] for all applicants, including minors. Your photograph must be:

  • COLOR PHOTO (passport-size 35mm x 40mm)
  • Photograph without specs.
  • Face 70-80% of the height of the photo.
  • taken without headgear
  • head coverings and hats are only acceptable due to religious beliefs, and even then, may not cover any portion of the applicant's face
  • taken against a plain, evenly lit and light background.

Processing time

The processing at the Embassy of Cyprus is not more than 10 working days.
