BLS Police Clearance Certificate

Police Clearance Certificate

Overview

In keeping with Spanish Government regulations, most Spanish authorities were, till recently, accepting the Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) issued from India with Apostille without insisting on a supplementary Certificate to be given by the Embassy in Madrid.

It has now been clarified by Spanish authorities that the PCC issued from India with Apostille has to be accompanied by a supplementary Certificate to be given by the Embassy. The Embassy will henceforth, on application, issue such certificate to all applicants who had obtained a PCC from India. This supplementary certificate will be legalized for free by the legalizations service of the Directorate General of Spanish Nationals abroad and Consular and Migratory Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

FOR CONSULAR PCC:

Consular PCC issued by Embassy of India, Madrid will be in English and without apostille. You are requested to check with Spanish authorities as to which PCC they will accept before applying for the same.
