Birth certificate / registration of birth

• A Letter of Birth Certificate is issued based on the Indian passport only and applicants must come in person.
• Birth Certificate application Form should be filled and signed by the applicant. For minor below 15 years, parents can sign.
• Original Indian Passport and copies of the same is required.
• Original and Copy of IC including Re-entry/Validity pages (PR/ EP/WP/ S PASS/DP) is required.
• The physical presence of the applicant is required for the age of 5 and above.
• Processing time is 3 to 5 working days.

For Indian Origin Foreign Nationals

• A Letter of Birth Certificate is issued based on the Cancelled Indian passport and applicants must come in person with the following documents: -
• Cancelled Indian Passports (Physically)-preferably all Indian passports held and copies of the same is required.
• Applicant has to provide the date of Renunciation/Surrender of Indian passport by attaching a copy(Renunciation/Surrender Certificate) thereoff.
• Original and a copy of OCI card.
• Current foreign passport and a copy thereof.
• Resident/Valid permit in Singapore with Original and a copy thereof.
• Processing time is 3 to 5 working days.

NOTE: For Emergency Services, apply directly at the High Commission of India with an additional emergency fee of S$100 in cash. Processing time is 2 working days.
